Q: Let’s start things off on a fun note – what is your favorite app currently, and what do you love about it?

A: Spotify is my favorite app. I love to always have something in my ears, whether it’s music or a podcast. The ability to put on a personalized playlist that is recommendation based and trained by what I listen to is perfect for my change of moods and music taste. As a Swede, I am also a bit biased since Spotify is Swedish 🇸🇪.

Q: For our readers who may not be familiar, could you tell us about Bidease?

A: Bidease is a fully transparent programmatic DSP that specializes in mobile app advertising. Our goal is to help mobile marketers grow their apps with automated, highly-customizable machine learning campaigns. Q: The ad tech industry is incredibly competitive. How does Bidease differentiate itself in this environment? 

A: As the industry has consolidated, it’s become harder for smaller apps or apps from emerging markets to find a programmatic solution that works for them. That’s why, as Bidease maintains our own proprietary servers and has local teams based in these emerging markets (like the Middle East and North Africa), we are able to significantly cut our operating costs and enter these rapidly-growing markets with greater efficiency, flexibility, and expertise. 

Combined with our fully transparent and customizable machine learning campaigns, Bidease offers white-glove service to all mobile app marketers from diverse regions, verticals, and stages of development. 

 

Q: Every company has its set of challenges… What are some common issues your clients face, and how does Bidease solve these problems?

 A: Programmatic is commonly viewed as a “black box” industry where marketers don’t have full access to the data and optimization strategies that affect their campaigns. As a result, many of our clients came to us frustrated about not having the actionable insights they needed to meet their goals. 

At Bidease, we offer our clients a co-pilot seat alongside our ML, giving them full access and transparency to the very same data and dashboards our internal teams and systems use to optimize their campaigns. 

In addition to providing granular data like bidding costs and SSP insights, Bidease teams build strong relationships with all our clients to guide their media buying efforts. Q: What future developments are you most excited about? Are there any upcoming trends in mobile advertising that you think our readers should watch out for?

A: At Bidease we’re continually innovating so there are a lot of developments I’m excited about! At the top of my list are our investments in owned and operated inventory (specifically from emerging markets like the Middle East and North Africa), mediation services, and updates to our proprietary servers

We’re also researching the benefits of neural networks and deep learning models, which process data in a way similar to the human brain. Ultimately, our goal is to reduce our clients’ time-to-goal so they can reach their KPIs faster and improve their performance with more accurate models.

For trends, I recommend keeping an eye on EU data privacy policy. For example, Facebook and Instagram users now have the option to opt out of advertising by paying for an ad-free subscription. I think it’s going to be interesting to see how many users would rather pay than see ads. I imagine it’s just a matter of time until all social networks will offer a similar subscription option for their users. If so, then that’s even more reason to scale marketing efforts on other apps outside of social media.
